We are seeking a Systems Engineer - Controls for EV charging systems in Atlanta GA. This person should be capable of quickly learning and understanding the fundamental components and systems that make up existing and new products and using that basis to identify potential issues and improve the designs for greater robustness. You’ll make a difference by: * Design, implement, and maintain PLC software programs. * Troubleshoot, test, and debug control systems. * Modify program/system logic consisting of multiple systems and subsystems. * Interact with all EVSE subsystems and thus quickly gain a broad understanding of charging operation through design, implementation, and hands-on testing and troubleshooting of charging functions on simulators and EVSE. * Efficiently identify root causes of charger performance issues and interact with customers You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject area from an accredited university. * Minimum 2 years of related engineering experience, OR advanced degree with 0-2 years of experience with the following * Control engineering experience * Strong understanding of technical documentation including system design descriptions, logic diagrams, functional block diagrams, specifications, material requisitions, and electrical schematics * Expertise in programming languages and tools including IEC 61131-3 Ladder, Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, Python, and fundamental programming practices covering development, debugging, start-up, and revision control * Experience with model-based control verification and validation tools including model-in-the-loop (MIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), hardware-in-the-loop (SIL), and rapid prototyping * Proficiency in communications protocols such as CAN, BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP using wired or wireless systems, and understanding interfaces among control applications within software * Knowledge of industry standards including ISO 15118, DIN 70121, SAE J3105, and commitment to knowing the latest competitor solutions and new technologies * Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to explain technical design decisions to internal and external collaborators * Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively in multi-functional teams and maintain productive relationships with external customers * Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship You’ll benefit from: * Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
