The Digital Industries Customer Services Business Unit is seeking a visionary Director of Field Service Operations to lead a large, high performing service team in supporting our customers’ digital transformation journeys. This is a pivotal role focused on expanding our services’ offerings and empowering our customers to achieve their sustainability goals across the entire plant/factory lifecycle. We are looking for a Director, Field Services-Service Execution & Lifecycle Management. This is a remote position within the US but must live (30 miles) near a major airport. In this critical role, you will be in instrumental in accelerating our customers’ digital transformation by delivering exceptional service and expertise. You’ll make an impact by: Field Service Employees and Job Execution: * Managing staff utilization, project scheduling, profitability, and execution quality to drive operational excellence * Conduct ongoing assessments, training, and development of field service personnel provide world-class support, enabling our customers’ digital journeys * Collaborating with the Siemens EH&S team to maintain our industry-leading safety standards and promote sustainable operations * Driving the achievement of ambitious operational KPIs while empowering field personnel to optimize customer engagements and outcomes * Recruiting, developing and retaining top talent to build a high-powering field service organization * Act as a trusted advisor and primary escalation point of contact for customers, resolving issues with both internal and external stakeholders * Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and company policies Technology Scope: * Expertise in process automation, including DCS PLC hardware and software applications * Proficiency in factory automation, including PLCs, HMIs, industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, Ethernet), and associated operation software * Experience with AC and DC drives, machine tool control systems (CNC machines) with PLC and drives, and digitalization technologies (IoT, networks, MES/MOM, AR/VR, PLM, AI) You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: * 10+ years of progressive experience in roles with increasing responsibility, including technical team supervision and operations management. * 10+ years of experience driving transformative results across large, complex organizations. * 10+ years of experience in understanding technology-driven field service and the ability to enable digital transformation. * Working closely with hardware and software to help support customer's digital journey. * Must be authorized to work in the US without the need of sponsorship now or in the future. * Must live 30 miles within a major airport. * Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time. * Bachelor's degree required Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrates systematic problem-solving capabilities. * High professional and ethical judgement. * Possess the ability to challenge the status quo in pursuit of continuous improvement. * Excellent collaboration skills, coupled with trusted professional creditability. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
